FASD Primary Prevention Resources Project

Project Overview

The FASD Primary Prevention Resources Project was developed to determine the effectiveness of the primary prevention resources developed and distributed across north-western Canada. This project is one of five projects suppored by the Canada Northwest FASD Research Network. For more information about the Network, please visit www.canfasd.ca.

Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of this project is to establish the state of FASD primary prevention materials in the region, highlighting successes and creating research strategies to address any gaps in practice.

The objectives of the project are as follows:

  1. Define and appoint a Research Team.
  2. Compile an inventory of relevant FASD materials, such as posters, public service announcements, and brochures; organize materials by topics and target audiences; identify the scope and dimensions of the work to be done to synthesize and analyze the materials.
  3. Identify those resources that have been evaluated and prepare an FASD Resources Evaluation Report.
  4. Identify key stakeholders in Canada North West.
  5. Recruite a Principal Investigator(s).
  6. Develop research questions relating to the effectiveness of FASD resources in primary prevention.
  7. Determine scope of work.
  8. Formulate an approach to assessment.
